A word from the publisher ~
IF YOU RESCUE, PLEASE DO SO RESPONSIBLY ~ A reputable rescue makes the safety and welfare of their rescue animals their first priority by following this guideline of only 3 simple steps with every prospective foster/forever home every time, without exception. This is not to imply doing this guarantees perfect results, these steps are the minimum requirements of a reputable rescue - that simple. Always requiring any prospective fosters and adopters to fill out an Application (for those who need applications please see below); And don’t forget to call their references. It is very important they allow you to into their home for a brief visit (aka Home check) at their convenience, to see where their new family member will be living, this is one of the most effective tools for ensuring your rescued pet’s safety and welfare, and should always be required, every single time, without exception. Furthermore, any applicant who refuses or takes issue with allowing any part of this process is just cause for denying approval of their application. While in their home, notice the health/appearance of any other pets in their care. It’s also a good idea to Check their ID, or, even better, make a copy of it for their file.
If you don’t have applications, please follow the link below to Adoption Applications - you can edit to your liking. You do not have to be a professional rescue to do this and keep in mind, many well known rescues started out just this way. If you have any problems whatsoever using these documents please let me know and I will gladly email or snail mail them to you instead - just message me and tell me where to send them.
